1: The first Yorkshire
Pilgrimage 29-31 May 1928 : we have been given some of the identifications.
In the centre of the bench is Mother Sarah of the Community of St Peter at Horbury:
other Sisters are in the photograph.
On Mother's left [as you look at the picture] is Fr Douglas Ferrier of St Paul's,
Shadwell, Leeds; behind him is his wife Dorothy, who after his death moved to
Walsingham and ran the Shrine shop for many years (she died in 1972). In front
of Fr Ferrier is Fr W E Kemp (later vicar of St Mary Magdalene's, Bradford,
and of St Benedict's, Ardwick). The priest on Mother's right [as you look at
the picture] is Fr Harry Howard, vicar of Goldthorpe and Hickleton 1924-39.
