Fr
Patten's '1938' Photograph Albums the building of the Shrine Church: his second album covers the period July-November 1937 |
![]() |
Fr
Patten compiled two albums of his photographs recording the building of
the Shrine church - he called this second album "The Shrine Extention
1937 No. 2" and the previous one was "No
1". The photographs date from July 20th to November 17th, and
the captions given here are exactly as written by Fr Patten - he frequently
used compass points in his descriptions and differentiated the true and
liturgial directions by using quotation marks or the word 'strictly'.
The photographs are mostly of the standard size at the time - 4x2.5 inches
(10.5x6 cms). They are in reasonable condition for their age, and have
now been enhanced as fully as possible. |
