Reference key is: page number and photograph letter:Fr Patten's number. His captions usually include compass points: the main door is the WEST front.
The photographs are usually of the standard size at the time - 4x2.5 inches (10.5x6 cms). They have deteriorated a great deal - through age, the glue with which they were fixed and some obvious attempts at removal. Some of them have small strips missing from their edges. The pictures have been enhanced as fully as possible.
As building progresses, the photographs capture some of the excitement that Fr Patten must have felt as he saw his vision turn to reality.
